About Ryan

From early on Ryan has surrounded himself with creating music. In high school he prided himself on being involved in multiple music activities including marching drumline, pep band, and being inducted in the musical honour society Tri-M. As college approached he decided on schooling himself in film and video by enrolling in Columbia College Chicago. There he wrote several short films, feature length scripts and developed a television series. Outside of school he founded the alternative rock band One Year Reign in order to make original music for his film projects. Compared to such musicians as Ringo Starr and Josh Freese, Ryan plays the drumset in One Year Reign and is part of the backing band for Julia Kay. Ryan is inspired by Vertical Horizon, Drake Bell, The Verve Pipe and Alex Band for his songwriting and lyrical writing capabilities and looks up to such talented drummers as Longineu Parsons III (Yellowcard), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle), Chad Sexton (311), Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band) & Stewart Copeland (The Police).
